bahp (3) The Village of Tequesta, is the northern most community in Palm Beach County.  Named for the Tequesta Indians of South Florida it is a small, quiet community. It began when developer Charlie Martyn arrived in 1955 and created Waterway Village, located on the western side of the Intercoastal Waterway, to enhance his 86 acres on Jupiter Island.  June 4, 1957, the Charter for the Village of Tequesta was granted by the Florida Legislature.

Tequesta is a great place to live year-round.   Equally home to families and retirees.  It has its own Police and Fire Departments.  Hosting many annual events and movie nights in the park Tequesta has something for everyone.
